Tips For Purchasing A Great Smartphone

Nowadays, smartphones have become an indispensable part of our lives, where a lot of could not life without one! However, with the plethora of smartphones flooding the market every month, it is always difficult to choose the one that may suit you the best.

With a wide variety of smartphones available in the market, choosing is never easy. “The next big thing” always seems to be here. Here are some of the important features to consider when purchasing a great smartphone.

1. The Screen Size

When choosing a smartphone, the ideal screen size is from 4.0 to 5.0 inches. In this range, functionality and versatility are maximized — the handset is relatively lightweight, easy to grip, not too big or too small and easily fits into your pocket.

2. The Display

When choosing a smartphone, consider its brightness, color quality and viewing angles. Make sure that the smartphone you are buying has a panel that is bright enough to see outdoors and sharp enough where text can be read clearly in direct sunlight. The suggested minimum phone’s resolution is 1920 x 1080p (Full HD), but if you can splurge choose the sharper 2560 x 1440 Quad HD resolutions.

3. The Build Quality

The build quality is all about the durability of a smartphone. If you are prone to dropping your phone, it is recommended that you buy a metal or a plastic built handset, which can sustain drops from 2-3 feet. Also, there are some handsets that have glass coated paneling that allow wireless charging, but these glass-based handsets can be easily shattered.

4. The Battery

The battery usage depends on how often you use your smartphone. If you are a frequent and heavy user— you work on apps, stream videos, play games, download movies, edit videos and pictures, etc., it is recommended to purchase a smartphone with at least 3500mAh (milliampere hour) ) battery or above. However, if you are an average or a light user, choose a phone with 3,000 mAh battery to have a better chance to last a whole day.

5. The Camera

If you love taking and sharing photos with friends and family, make sure to buy a phone with a good camera. You cannot always determine the quality of a smartphone’s camera by merely looking at its spec sheet. An effective way to find out the quality of its camera is by looking at test photos and videos.

6. The Storage

Storage space is a very important feature of a great smartphone. Get at least 32GB to store more games, photos and videos. Also, look for a phone with expandable storage and use cloud storage services to save space and money.

7. The Memory and Processor

If you are on a budget, choose a mid-range phone that has adequate power that doesn’t lag. But if you are a heavy user with tasks that require a large amount of processing power, such as streaming videos, watching HD videos or gaming, editing photos or videos, downloading and watching movies, choose a high-end device.

With so many other features to consider when looking for a smartphone, choose one that provides the most features that you are interested in. Certainly, the bigger the budget, the wider the options, but make sure to choose the device that can provide the most specs at the lowest price possible. Do some research to find a great phone that you will truly enjoy.
